As a company we were started with the principles of honesty, transparency and ethical business conduct at the core of our business and with this in mind, we have decided to make some changes and sadly although they are necessary , they may come as an unpleasant surprise.
We are moving to a new way of operating , we are doing this to guarantee that The Pure Option survives without constant cash injection from our other businesses.
The Pure Option has only made a profit twice in it's 8 years and this can not continue long term, so we are looking at ways of reducing costs and part of this cost cutting is to reduce our warehouse size ( we are looking at vacating our current lease by Jan 2027 as our rent has gone up 52% in one year).
What this means is we will have to eliminate packs (quantities of 50 to 100) in favour of full boxes and we are going to have to delist our slow moving and low profit margin product lines.
A number of the materials in our products have gone up to a unsustainable level and by the time you add in the Plastic Tax and EPR , they are no longer sustainable as we appreciate that their is a limit to how much people are willing to pay for a planet friendly product.
Sadly this means that our customers will not be able to purchase in smaller quantities when our stock of packs has sold out ( with the exception of our clear Natureflex Bags)
I appreciate this may be deeply frustrating for our customers, but this is absolutely neccasary as sadly we can not continue to operate as we previously did and to continue to be a loss making business.
My team and I sincerely hope that we don't lose you as a customer, but this is purely about long term survival and as a consquence of the economic situation we find ourselves in (our profitable business can no longer continue to subsidies our loss making business), along with poorly thought out and destructive Government policy, we couldn't continue to do things in the way we do things and hope to be around in 2027 to 2028, so these extreme changes will help us to remain and to continue our mission to end single use petrol based plastic packaging.
One area you may notice a big change is our bakery bags, this line will be discontinued when stocks run out, although these have traditionally been a profitable range for us, we have seen price increases of 55%,, which we appreciate can't be passed on, some of our bags will remain but only as full boxes in future, so now is a good time to purchase these products as they are currently sold at cost or almost cost to clear.
If you have any questions pleaase get in touch or add a comment below , and I appreciate to a number of our customers this will come as bad news, but sadly this is the only way we can guarantee the long term survival and end our losses in future, so I hope you understand these are uncomfortable changes but will allow us to be here for you in the future.
