Let's face it there is a lot of misinformation out their, so we thought we would create a new series called ECO FACTS to open debate about the environment, we want a positive debate, not one filled with doom and gloom, we want these facts to uplift you, to educate you and best of all, to let you know the real facts minus the half truths or apocalyptic horror stories.

Since 1978, Lego has produced 8.2 billion lego people, which is more than the current population of the world.

Let's talk plastics
Plastics have become a dirty word, and naturally you would expect us to be very anti plastic, but you would be quite wrong.
Plastics have been an incredible addition to the modern world, imagine a car dashboard without plastics, it would be heavier, cost more and would make the vehicle use more fuel, so plastic is actually something we should celebrate ( this is said without without minimising it's negative impact).
Plastic as a multiple use item is a brilliant invention, the problem is it's not a great invention for single use plastics ( something we use once and throw away) and this is the bit that people confuse the two.
While we all obsess with plastics, we are forgetting that the bit we should be changing is the single use element , to put simply, plastic is not the problem, it's how it is sometimes used that is.
Thankfully this is the easy win, as all we need to do is remove the harmful bit ( petrol from prehistoric dead things) and replace it with plants, it's such a quick win.
We should be aware that plastic has some harmful health effects, but this would create another debate, maybe something we will come back to, in the meantime find out more here.
