We have been thinking about the cost of living crisis , it's been effecting The Pure Option™ , our team and our customers.
We like most businesses have been hugely effected by the cost of materials ( cardboard as an example is about 60% more expensive than in 2020).
So we were facing huge rises and this was effecting our supply ( our warehouse now holds enough stock for 16 weeks when it used to be 4 weeks) , so we had the choice of increasing our prices and like everyone in the industry, we had to do this.
So what has changed?
Things have improved a bit but we had the choice of waiting out the rest of the year to see if things changed but we decided we were going to buy our materials in much bigger bulk so we could drive the price down and pass the savings onto our customers.
So this has allowed us to reduce the price of our bags by at least 10% and in most cases 20%.
So did we stop there?
We think differently ( if we were that type of company, we would say we “ Think outside of the box” but we aren't that type of company, so ignore this business jargon) , so we re-negotiated our delivery charge so we could bring the price down of our delivery.
So did we stop there ?
Spoiler alert , nope we then looked at how to pass further savings onto our customers by offering new bulk discounts, the more you buy, the more we buy and the cheaper our products cost, which we can pass onto you.
So let's sum up
These changes have allowed us to reduce our delivery to £3.99, provide bulk discounts (we've never done this before) and bring down the price of most of our products ( well our paper products and cardboard products anyway).
We aren't finished , we are still looking at ways to make our products cheaper, watch this space for updates.
