We've were started with the mission to get rid of nasty single use plastics and as a company, we are always innovating and looking at better ways of doing things and this includeslooking at the materials in our products.
The Pure Option has been working with our manafacturing partners to find a better way of improving our materials and products to give the very best environmental outcomes, we started with bags, followed by food boxes along with trays and now we have done the same with our disposable hot cups.
So how have we improved them
- Now all of our disposable hot cups are made from recyclable as well as home compostable materials.
- Now with improved thermo materials which means you no longer need a sleeve or a double wall hot cups ( unless you are doing really really hot tea and then we recommend a clutch).
- They can now able to be recycled as part of the National Cup Recycling Schem and you can take them to a number of outlets across the UK for recycling , these include a number of Mcdonalds and Costa Coffee outlets (see below).
- They are now cheaper as they cost about the same as PE lined cups but with absolutely none of the health or environmental downsides.
- They can still be used in home composters or as plant-able plant pots.
- They can also be added to a commerical food waste collection if your business has one.
Something to be aware of
Your home cardboard waste collection may not accept disposable cups, even ours, check with your Local Council, if they won't collect them click the link below to see where they will.
It's an easy win, it's barrier free, better for the planet and cheaper than the alternatives.
