Compostable Hot & Cold Lids: Cap Off Your Menu (With 0% Prehistoric Toxic Spill Risks)
Let’s be completely real for a split second: you’ve spent a massive amount of time, care, and business investment sourcing flawless, 100% plant-based cups and takeaway food bowls. But then comes the final step—capping it off with a lid. If you use a traditional high-street plastic lid, your customer is sipping their steaming hot artisan coffee or freshly prepped soup through a pool of petroleum chemicals. We call those single-use plastics Dead Dinos because they are built from prehistoric oil sludge, and frankly, they completely crash your eco-credentials right at the finish line.
At The Pure Option, we believe your lids should be just as clean as the vessels beneath them.
Welcome to our Compostable Hot & Cold Lids hub. Every single lid in this collection—from our high-heat CPLA barista cup caps to crystal-clear cold dome lids, unbleached kraft soup pot lids, and clear view salad bowl covers—is crafted strictly from renewable plant matter like corn starch, sugarcane, and sustainable card. They provide a secure, leak-free seal entirely free of plastic or synthetic chemical liners.
(Psst... Accountant-Upsetting Moving Sale! Because we are currently shifting warehouses to a streamlined fulfillment model and our forklift drivers flat-out refuse to haul millions of stacked lids across the country, our accountant, Brian, is on the verge of tears. We have slashed a massive selection of our everyday white and black CPLA hot cup lids, clear dessert pot lids, and kraft container covers to cost price or less to clear! Protect your business margins and grab these bargains before they roll away!)
The Foolproof N-Sizing Ecosystem (Never Buy the Wrong Lids Again):
Buying the wrong size lids is an absolute operational nightmare during a busy service shift. We have completely eliminated this headache. Every single cup, bowl, pot, and lid across our website operates on our signature alphanumeric matching system:
Every vessel starts with a letter "N" followed by a number that represents its diameter in millimeters.
-
Have an N79 coffee cup? It will pair flawlessly with an N79 hot cup lid.
-
Serving soup in an N90 container? Grab an N90 flat or cardboard cover.
-
Prepping salads in an N115 bowl or pouring smoothies in an N96 cup? Match it directly to an N115 or N96 lid.
It is an identical, leakproof, secure match every single time.
True Circular Sustainability
Because our lids are derived from pure plant cellulose and bioplastics, they pass strict international composting standards (EN13432). When your customers finish their meals, these lids can be tossed straight into organic food waste streams, decomposing completely into clean, nutrient-rich soil biomass in under 12 weeks—leaving behind zero toxic residues or microplastics.
Put a tight lid on your plastic footprint. Explore our comprehensive sizing filters, check out our bulk multi-buy rolls, and snap up our warehouse-move clearance deals today!
