 Covered in sticky ketchup, oily dips, or food residues? Toss them directly into your commercial food waste collection or home compost bin. They break down safely into nutrient-rich soil compost in under 6 weeks in industrial conditions.
Amber (Good) Passed rigid laboratory pulpability testing (PTS-RH 021:2012). If kept clean and dry, they can be easily processed and recycled at standard paper mills along with cardboard.
Red (Okay) If thrown into general refuse, they safely biodegrade over time in landfill or incinerate cleanly in Energy-from-Waste facilities, providing non-toxic green energy without emitting microplastics.

It's an easy win

Buying our products are an easy win as 100% of or compostable products are made from plants, so end to end they are great for the planet and whether they end up in landfill or incineration they don't release toxic emissions and don't harm the environment, but if they are disposed of properly they will actually help the environment, if you add them to your food waste collection ( let your waste company know they aren't plastic) with one of our plant based bio bags and they actually benefit the environment, it's your choice as just switching is great for the planet but proper disposable actually adds additional carbon savings , if in doubt get in touch as we don't just want to sell , we want to help you make the best decision for your business, your customers and the environment ( not a lecture but just wanted to make you aware of all the options).

There is no bad option, only better one's

We operate a traffic light system when it comes to disposing of our products.

Red -  doesn't mean it's bad for the environment, it just means it's the worst option and offers the lowest environmental out comes.

Amber -  offers a good environmental outcome but lower environmental outcomes when compared to green options.

Green -  Offers the very best outcomes and adds positively to the environment when disposed of.

Landfill or Energy for waste facility (EFW)

If you put this product in your standard refuse bin it will probably go to a EFW facility to be incinerated and turned into green energy or a landfill site, althought this is our least favourite option, and offers the lowest environmental outcomes, they still don't cause any environmental damage as they will either be turned into non toxic smoke or left to break down into nutrient rich compost, it just takes a lot longer.

One benefit of this option is it does create low cost energy.
Recycling

This product has certification to show it has passed a pulpability test (PTS-RH 021:2012.)  in a laboratory, replicating how a standard paper mill recycles paper and card.

This means it can be recycled with paper waste, but please check with your local waste company to make certain they process it as a paper product.
Commercial Food Waste Collections Can be composted into macro nutrient rich compost in under 6 weeks in commercial or home food waste collection.
Home Composting Bagasse can be home composted, however decompostion times vary based on how healthy your home composter is and the heat in your home composter, a healthy composter can take weeks, a unhealthy or new composter can take months.
