Origin Made using PLA from sustainable agricultural waste generated by the corn industry.

It's an easy win

Buying our products are an easy win as 100% of or compostable products are made from plants, so end to end they are great for the planet and whether they end up in landfill or incineration they don't release toxic emissions and don't harm the environment, but if they are disposed of properly they will actually help the environment, if you add them to your food waste collection ( let your waste company know they aren't plastic) with one of our plant based bio bags and they actually benefit the environment, it's your choice as just switching is great for the planet but proper disposable actually adds additional carbon savings , if in doubt get in touch as we don't just want to sell , we want to help you make the best decision for your business, your customers and the environment ( not a lecture but just wanted to make you aware of all the options).

There is no bad option, only better one's

We operate a traffic light system when it comes to disposing of our products.

Red -  doesn't mean it's bad for the environment, it just means it's the worst option and offers the lowest environmental out comes.

Amber -  offers a good environmental outcome but lower environmental outcomes when compared to green options.

Green -  Offers the very best outcomes and adds positively to the environment when disposed of.

Landfill or Energy for waste facility (EFW)

If you put this product in your standard refuse bin it will probably go to a EFW facility to be incinerated and turned into green energy or a landfill site, althought this is our least favourite option, and offers the lowest environmental outcomes, they still don't cause any environmental damage as they will either be turned into non toxic smoke or left to break down into nutrient rich compost, it just takes a lot longer.

One benefit of this option is that it does create low cost energy.
Recycling Sadly although this product is made of PLA which is recyclable, currently no facilities exist to recycle this material.
Commercial Food Waste Collections Can be composted into macro nutrient rich compost in under 6 weeks in commercial or home food waste collection.
Home Composting PLA can be home composted, however it does require a healthy composter with a lot of heat so decomposition times vary greatly in home composters but the minimum decomposition time will be at least 6 months.
