Buying our products are an easy win as 100% of or compostable products are made from plants, so end to end they are great for the planet and whether they end up in landfill or incineration they don't release toxic emissions and don't harm the environment, but if they are disposed of properly they will actually help the environment, if you add them to your food waste collection ( let your waste company know they aren't plastic) with one of our plant based bio bags and they actually benefit the environment, it's your choice as just switching is great for the planet but proper disposable actually adds additional carbon savings , if in doubt get in touch as we don't just want to sell , we want to help you make the best decision for your business, your customers and the environment ( not a lecture but just wanted to make you aware of all the options).

There is no bad option, only better one's

We operate a traffic light system when it comes to disposing of our products.

Red -  doesn't mean it's bad for the environment, it just means it's the worst option and offers the lowest environmental out comes.

Amber -  offers a good environmental outcome but lower environmental outcomes when compared to green options.

Green -  Offers the very best outcomes and adds positively to the environment when disposed of.

We were one of the UK's first companies to distribute plant based packaging (if not the first) , all the way back in 2003 (we went off and did some other things and returned in 2018) but our mission is still the same, to replace toxic packaging with Planet Friendly plant based packaging.

We have Europe's largest range of compostable and biodegradable products with 300+ products made from plants which means when they are disposed of , they turn into compost, which is great for the environment and completely circular.

Switching to plant made packaging doesn't have to cost more and you don't have to compromise on quality, durability and function, as our 300+ products have all been tested to be better than the harmful plastic alternative.

We aren't ecological warriors but we believe we can all make a difference, if you can replace your environmentally damaging packaging with our plant based products, you can have all of the benefits without any of the negatives ethical and environmental downsides.

A bit about heat sealers

These bags are made from a material with a much lower sealing temperature than plastic bags, so we recommend a heater sealer that you can adjust the temperature.

We don't sell heat sealers as they are so cheap to buy , it's not worth us selling them but we use an Impulse heat sealer which we bought from eBay as you can adjust the temperature and they are really well priced ( ours cost us about £20).

Care & Storage Guide: Keep Your Packaging Fresh

Because our packaging is Made from Plants™, it is designed to break down naturally. To ensure your containers maintain their strength and clarity until they reach your customers, follow these simple storage tips.

1. Temperature Control (The Golden Rule)

Our plant-basedNatureflex (clear) products are heat-sensitive.

• Keep it Cool: Store your packaging in a cool, dry place below 40°C.

• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Never store clear PLA deli pots or lids in direct sunlight (e.g., near a window) or near heat sources like ovens or radiators, as they may warp.
• Cold Use Only: Remember, our clear deli range is designed for cold or room-temperature foods only.

2. Humidity and Moisture

While our bagasse (sugarcane) containers are naturally water and oil-resistant, long-term storage in damp environments can affect the structural integrity of the cardboard and pulp.

• Dry Storage: Keep boxes and containers in their original outer cartons or a sealed container to prevent moisture absorption.

• Off the Floor: Store boxes on shelving or pallets rather than directly on concrete floors to avoid "wicking" moisture.

3. First In, First Out (FIFO)

To ensure you are always using the freshest stock:

• Rotate Your Inventory: Use a "First In, First Out" system. While our products have a long shelf life, using older stock first ensures the materials remain at their most durable.

4. Handling with Care

• Avoid Crushing: Do not stack heavy items on top of cartons containing clear lids or PLA pots, as this can cause cracking.

• Reseal Open Packs: If you don’t use a full sleeve of containers, fold the top of the plastic sleeve over or use a clip to keep dust and debris out.
